Tribute: From vancouverbeerblog.com

Colin Jack-Just Here For The Beer-Vancouver-RIP

There are so many wonderful things that exist in this world, but we can’t always find it on our own.  Sometimes we need to be shown the door in order to find such greatness, and have it be a part of our lives.  Some of us need to be taught what we’re seeing, before we can see it as something beautiful.  So I’m very sad to say that we lost someone who opened so many doors, and gave vision to those who were blind to beauty.  I’m sad to say we lost an important figure in Vancouver, who reached out to the masses, and opened the door to quality craft beer.  The man I speak of is Colin Jack.  Colin was a columnist for 24 Hours, and ran Just Here For The Beer, which did beer events, beer classes, and a radio show.  Although we were from different worlds, I always gave credit to Colin for reaching out to the masses, and educating them about craft beer.  He was very passionate about what he did, and anyone who met him, would agree on what a great guy he was. So as we pour our beer into a pint, mug, snifter, tulip glass, let’s take the time to appreciate what’s inside the glass.  Let’s take a moment to appreciate the glass that’s full with color, life and character, in respect to those whose glasses are completely empty right now from this loss.  Let’s appreciate what’s inside the glass, in respect to Colin Jack, who cared enough to spread the love, and open doors for others.
